This Privacy Policy explains how Aurora ("Aurora", "we", "us") — operated by Aneesh Mohan (an individual based in India) — collects and uses your personal data when you use auroramentors.com (the "Service"). We act as the data controller. Contact: hello@auroramentors.com.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data (when you sign in with Google): your name, email address and profile photo.
  • Workspace data you enter: documents checklist, university applications, journal notes, saved tool results, and similar — stored so they sync across your devices.
  • Bookings & payments: the mentor and slot you book, amount, and payment status. We do not store your card details — payments are processed by Razorpay.
  • Mentor applications (if you apply): your university, programme, proof-of-enrolment link and contact details.
  • Webinar registrations: your name and email.
  • Usage & device data: via cookies/analytics, only with your consent (see our Cookie Policy).

2. How we use your data

  • To provide the Service (sign-in, save your workspace, process bookings, run webinars).
  • To release a mentor's contact details to you only after a verified payment.
  • To verify mentors and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • To understand and improve the Service (analytics — consent-based).
  • To contact you about your bookings, applications or webinars you registered for.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (bookings, account features), consent (analytics cookies, marketing emails), legitimate interests (security, service improvement), and legal obligation (tax/accounting for payments).

4. Sharing & processors

We don't sell your data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Google — sign-in and (consent-based) analytics
  • Supabase — database hosting of your account and workspace data
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Razorpay — payment processing

Some providers may process data outside India/the EU; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

5. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Payment/booking records are kept as long as required by law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (subject to legal retention).

6. Your rights

Subject to the GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may request to access, correct, delete, or export your data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@auroramentors.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; we'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
